J. Nation has been a local and productive musician around the Milwaukee area since 1992 when he co founded Stranj frut productions, his music ranges from rap/ R&B to techno and dance. In 1997 he had music featured on the Fox TV show Party of Five.
Then in 1998, he segued in to acting, taking bit parts in Ross Bigley's short movies. On the short; The Dirty Job he acted as music supervisor. Nation collaborated separately with friend and fellow musician Ku Mays on the score. They returned to the follow up The Dirty Job 2: Dead As I Wanna Be, with J. Nation's music evolving in to specific sounds to create an eerie atmosphere. He was given in 1999 the lead male role of "Tony Towne" in Slacktime, again supplying the music.
Recently he has been hard at work on two albums entitled The Maafa and The Lee Homeless Project.
