Film to catch: Pester

September 21, 2014

Eric Gerber has been a friend to the Society since our 2003 festival when we screened his student work. Now he brings his unique vision to a new feature film, Pester.

Synopsis: A family of pest control workers struggling to keep their American dream alive.

The film was shot in and around Los Angeles and is scheduled to have its World premiere at the Times Cinema Sunday, September 28th at 6:45pm. There will be a cast & crew Q/A after the screening. Another screening will be held on October 5th at the Oriental Theatre at 10pm.

Playing with Pester is the short film, "Give it Up For The Girl" directed by Carol Brandt. This short film had its premiere at the 16th Annual Milwaukee Short Film Festival a few weeks ago, and was awarded "Best Wisconsin Film".

Gerber's past work includes award-winning films "Pesticide" (Best Experimental Short, Wildwood Film Fest, 2011), "Snare" (Best Short Film, Los Angeles Silver Lake Film Festival, 2007), and "Aldara" (Best Film MKE Short Film Festival 2004, Kodak Film Award).
